As we come to the end of another busy 12 months for the Taskforce team, we thought we’d end the year on a high…
With so many incredible buildings in the UK, all vying for architectural significance and attention, it’s easy to see why many are literally reaching for the skies in a bid to stand out from the crowd.
One example is the awe-inspiring Shard in Southwark, London, currently the tallest completed building in both the United Kingdom and the European Union. It was topped out at a height of 310 metres (1,020 ft.) in March 2012, inaugurated in July 2012 and opened to the public in February 2013.
As one of the South East’s leading height access specialists, Taskforce has had the pleasure of scaling a number of these high profile London giants listed in the Top 10 tallest buildings in the UK including The Shard (no.1), Heron Tower (no.3), Citigroup Centre (joint 5 with HSBC Tower) and Tower 42 (no.7).
Not featured in the Top 10, but certainly worth a mention for their impressive size, are the BT Tower, Millennium Dome, Chelsea FC stadium, the Olympic Village and Paddington Train Station, all of which have been successfully mounted and serviced by our expert team.
So who made the grade?
